Symfony Astigmatism Correcting Toric LensWhat makes the Tecnis Symfony™ toric lens particularly unique is that it can be used to correct astigmatism and (if needed) presbyopia while correcting the cataract as well.

Like its presbyopia correcting cousin, the Symfony toric the first in a newer category of FDA-approved Extended Depth of Focus (EDOF) toric IOLs. This means you can have a full range of continuous, high-quality vision after cataract surgery with less dependency on glasses.

At the same time, this amazing lens can alleviate the effects of astigmatism as well as presbyopia to help you focus on near objects. The Symfony® toric provides seamless brilliance with excellent uncorrected visual acuity (sharpness) at all distances.

The unique EDOF qualities of this lens extend your focus thereby increasing your depth of field – the distance between nearest and farthest away objects – helping you experience high-quality vision without needing glasses much, or at all. In addition, the Symfony toric has been shown to provide continuous day-to-night vision with lessened halos and glare compared to other multifocal toric lenses.

The Symfony toric IOL is one of several advanced toric premium lenses that we offer. Considered one of the top premium lens surgeons in the U.S., Phillips Kirk Labor, MD is experienced at implanting this lens and can help you make the right choice. If you suspect you have cataracts, schedule a consultation or call our Grapevine office at 817-410-2030, conveniently located in Dallas/Fort Worth.

As with most premium smart lenses, the Symfony toric lens does incur some out-of-pocket expense. In addition, please be aware that you may still need glasses for distance, intermediate and near vision, depending on your specific condition.
