Symfony Presbyopia Correcting LensThe Tecnis Symfony intraocular lens (IOL) is the first in a newer category of FDA-approved Extended Depth of Focus (EDOF) multifocal IOLs. This means patients with presbyopia can have a full range of continuous, high-quality vision after cataract surgery with less dependency on glasses.

At the same time, this amazing lens alleviates the effects of presbyopia in that it helps you focus on near objects. The Symfony allows patients with presbyopia to see clearly at near, intermediate and far distances (and points in between) after cataract surgery.

The Symfony is designed to help patients with presbyopia experience high-quality vision without having to use glasses much, or at all. Its extended depth of focus advantages have been shown to provide seamless day-to-night vision with lessened halos and glare compared to other presbyopia correcting multifocal lenses.

The Symfony IOL is one of several advanced premium lenses that we offer. Considered one of the top premium lens surgeons in the U.S., Phillips Kirk Labor, MD is experienced at implanting this lens and can help you make the right choice. If you suspect you have cataracts, schedule a consultation or call our Grapevine office at 817-410-2030, conveniently located in Dallas/Fort Worth.

As with most premium smart lenses, the Symfony lens does incur some out-of-pocket expense. In addition, please be aware that you may still need glasses for distance, intermediate and near vision, depending on your specific condition.
