Also known as “intraocular” lenses, Implantable Contact Lenses (ICL) are permanent contacts that don’t have to be removed. Eye Consultants of Texas offers two of the most advanced: the Visian ICL™ Phakic Intraocular Lens, and Verisyse™ Phakic Intraocular Lens. Phillips Kirk Labor, MD was the first Dallas/Fort Worth ophthalmologist to implant the Verisyse ICL, and among the first to implant the Visian ICL. Each can be very effective alternatives for anyone not a candidate for LASIK.

The Visian ICL is a permanent lens placed in the front of the natural lens of the eye creating the same effect as removable contact lenses. The difference is you’ll never have to change them out. Made from collagen, a naturally occurring substance in the eye, the Visian ICL requires no maintenance and can be removed for any reason. The Verisyse lens is best for patients with moderate to severe nearsightedness. Both are “phakic” intraocular lenses, meaning they work with the eye’s natural lens still in place, providing the same clear vision as traditional contacts – without the hassle.

Eye Consultants of Texas will help you decide which Implantable Contact Lens is right for you. Call 877-516-4364 or email info@eyecontx.com to learn more.
