The Light Adjustable Lens is a game-changer in that you and Dr. Labor can preview and adjust your vision to your own personal visual requirements, after the lens is already implanted.
Here’s how it works. After surgery, and your eye has healed, you’ll come in for a series of light treatment procedures Dr. Labor performs in the comfort of our office (rather than the operating room). At your first visit, your vision is checked. This is where you can preview and compare possible vision outcomes based on your own unique requirements. Once your “prescription” is selected, Dr. Labor customizes these light treatments to precisely reshape your lens to that exact prescription. Typically this involves 4 to 5 treatments over 4 to 6 weeks. Each takes only a few seconds and there is no discomfort.

As with all premium smart lenses, this lens does incur some out-of-pocket expense. In addition, please be aware that you may still need glasses for distance, intermediate and near vision, depending on your specific condition.
