Tecnis® Multifocal

Font Resizer

The Tecnis Multifocal lens is designed to treat presbyopia during cataract surgery. Not only does it reduce the need for reading glasses, it provides a full range of vision in all light conditions. This amazing lens allows you to see better than you have in decades, even at far distances and in low light conditions. The Tecnis Multifocal lens has shown to deliver superior results with 94% of patients saying they would choose it again.

What is the Procedure Like?

As with all lens implants, the Tecnis Multifocal lens replaces the clouded lens during cataract surgery, a safe and highly effective procedure that takes about 15 minutes. We perform all surgeries on an outpatient basis at our surgery center in the comfort of our offices. You will be fully awake during surgery, which is painless. The only thing you’ll feel is a little pressure.

A micro incision is made to break up the clouded lens using a technique called phacoemulsification. Once this is completed, the surgeon inserts the new implant using the same tiny incision. Only one eye is done per procedure, with the second procedure 2 to 4 weeks later.

You’ll be able to go home about an hour after surgery. Most of our patients notice immediate improvement in their vision, but results usually take a few weeks.

Are You A Candidate For The Tecnis Multifocal Lens?

You may be a candidate for this lens if you have cataracts. This is especially true if you have difficulty reading or seeing close objects and avoid driving at night. Regardless of which lens you select, our doctors will help you make the right decision for you. To find out more call us in Grapevine at 817-410-2030, or schedule an evaluation online.
